The objective is to help you understand your condition and equip you with the relevant nutrition information to modify your diet and to manage your blood pressure, and reduce the risk of getting a stroke.

During the consultation, the dietitian will perform a detailed nutritional assessment and collect the following information:

  • Home blood pressure readings
  • Dietary habits; including salt, fibre and alcohol intake , meal pattern and lifestyle
  • Other health conditions such as diabetes mellitus, kidney disease etc

The dietitian will then provide you with advice on:

  • Optimising your diet by reducing salt intake and ensuring adequate fibre intake
  • Individualised dietary recommendations
  • Meal preparation and eating out tips

Blood pressure, body weight and dietary changes will be reviewed regularly and further nutrition recommendations and relevant information will be provided accordingly.
