Tele-dentistry Oral Care for Seniors (T-DOCS)​

T-DOCS is a programme to improve and maintain the oral health of seniors in nursing homes, community hospitals or those who live at home and require home care. It is a programme by National Dental Centre Singapore, supported by Temasek Foundation. Download the T-DOCS brochure here.

1. Why is T-DOCS only offered to nursing homes and home care patients? Are other seniors allowed to participate?
   The programme is currently being piloted with a limited number of community partners. It may be expanded to include more organisations in future.
   
   
2. How do I sign up for T-DOCS?
   You can enrol yourself or your loved one for T-DOCS is they are currently cared for by participating community partners such as home care services, nursing homes, and senior activity centres. Please approach your service provider for more information.
   
   
3. How much does T-DOCS cost?
   During the period of the pilot programme, T-DOCS is supported by Temasek Foundation and is free for participating seniors.
   
   
4. Can my relative also sign up for T-DOCS?
   Yes, they can do so if they are currently being cared for by a participating healthcare provider.
   
   
5. If I am on T-DOCS, does this mean I no longer need to visit my family dentist?
   You should still visit your family dentist at least once or twice a year, even if you are on T-DOCS. This is because routine dental cleaning done by your family dentist will maintain your oral health and prevent the development of oral conditions that may require complex treatment.
   
   
6. If I am found to need dental treatment while on T-DOCS, will the treatment be free?
   The T-DOCS programme does not cover the costs of dental treatment.
   
   
7. How often will I  be provided with oral care or denture care products?
   The oral care and denture care products will be distributed to your healthcare provider to assist you with your oral hygiene and denture care.
   
   
8. What will happen if I run out of oral care or denture care products before I receive a new set?
   You can buy the products at your nearest drugstore.
