Dr Song Yi Lin is a Senior Consultant at the National Dental Centre Singapore. She is a registered specialist in orthodontics with the Singapore Dental Council, and carries out orthodontic work on both children and adults. She is well trained with the use of conventional, aesthetic and self-ligating braces in addition to growth modification appliances which may be required in children with jaw growth discrepancies. Dr Song graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery. She was awarded the best student with distinction in Preventive Dentistry and Dental Public Health in her undergraduate cohort and received the Singapore Dental Association Medal. Under a scholarship from the National Dental Centre, she did her postgraduate residency and thereafter received her Masters of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics from NUS and also a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Fulfilling her passion for teaching, Dr Song also completed a Masters in Clinical education with the University of Edinburgh and is currently the Associate Programme Director for the NUS Orthodontic Residency Programme. Dr Song is Director of Graduate Education for the Oral Health ACP at NDCS and also the chairperson of the College of Clinical Dentistry with SingHealth Academy.
