Cl A/Prof Marianne Ong is Senior Consultant Periodontist in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS). She obtained her Certificate & Master of Science in Periodontics from the University of Michigan in 1997 upon completion of a 3-year residency program in the USA. She is a Fellow in the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Over the past two decades, Dr Ong has been involved in clinical dental education of the oralhealth care team (dental assistants, oral health therapists, dental officers, residents, registrars, associate consultants) whilst maintaining an active clinical practice in periodontics in NDCS.
Prof Ong is presently Clinical Associate Professor & Programme Associate Director to the Master of Dental Surgery (Periodontology) Residency Training Programme, Faculty of Dentistry, NUS. She enjoys the opportunity to educate and mentor graduate students and recently completed the Singhealth Duke-NUS Academy of Medicine Education Institute (AM•EI) 2014 Fellows programme to further develop her teaching skills to be a more effective health professions educator.
She also contributes to the dental profession through her involvement in professional bodies and providing continuing education courses both locally and regionally.
