Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a surgical specialty that treats diseases, injuries and defects in the oral cavity, jaws and face.

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery provides a wide range of core specialty surgical services ranging from wisdom tooth surgery to orthognathic surgery and the management of jaw cysts and tumours. The Department also provides subspecialty surgical services such as orofacial nerve repair, cleft lip and palate surgery and sleep apnoea surgery.

Within the centre's multidisciplinary set-up, the Department is an active and integral participant in the oral and craniofacial implant programme and the dentofacial deformity programme. The Department also collaborates closely with oncologic surgeons and sleep medicine physicians on the Outram campus and participates actively in the multidisciplinary management of head and neck tumours and sleep disorders.
