About Researcher

Dr Ashish is a dentist by training and completed his BDS and MDS (Endodontics) from Gujarat University (India) in 2009 and 2012, respectively. After moving to Singapore in 2014 to pursue his PhD at Faculty of Dentistry (NUS), he has been actively working in Population Oral Health and is involved in various cohort studies involving children as well as ageing populations. In 2017, he was awarded the NUS President Graduate Fellowship to support his PhD training. After completing his PhD, he joined the same faculty as a Research Fellow till June 2022 before moving to National Dental Centre Singapore, where he independently coordinated the first nation-wide oral health study in Singaporean children (SINCOHS, 2024-2025), led by Prof Marco Peres.

He is also a core member of the Global Consortium of Oral Health Birth Cohort Studies (GLOBICS), established in 2023 and led by Prof Karen Peres, which aims to answer pressing research questions pertaining to childhood oral health by conducting pooled data analysis from various oral health birth cohort studies worldwide.
