Dr Tosha is a dentist with over 11 years of experience in population health research. She obtained her MSc (2015-2016) and PhD (2016-2020) from Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, where she worked extensively with the GUSTO birth cohort study, one of Asia’s largest longitudinal birth cohorts, focusing on early-life determinants of oral health and improving oral health outcomes in Singaporean children.
After completing her PhD, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (2021–2025), where her research was related to chronic disease prevention in older adults, with a focus on diabetes-related complications and cardiovascular disease in ageing populations. During this period, she has led and co-authored high-impact publications and contributed to multiple national-level projects leveraging administrative health data from the Singapore’s Ministry of Health to generate evidence for cost-effective, population-level health policy.
In November 2025, Dr Tosha joined the National Dental Centre Singapore, where her research focusses on sugar reduction policies and their impact on child’s oral and systemic health outcomes, as part of the NMRC-STAR grant led by Prof Marco Peres.
